Contractors' Marketplace — Networking for Contractors & Landlords. September 30, 2026, 4:00–6:00 PM. Four Points Hotel, Charleston, WV.

West Virginia Landlord Association presents

Two hours on the floor.
Work booked for the season.

A laid-back afternoon where the people who own the buildings meet the people who fix them. Contractors and trades on one side, landlords, managers and realtors on the other, suppliers showing what's actually in stock. Come to quote work, not to sit through a panel.

The Floor

Both sides of the invoice.

Most trade events put contractors in a room with other contractors. This one puts them in front of the people who sign the work orders — and the suppliers who stock the parts.

General Contractors

Remodels, rehabs and full turnovers — crews who can take a unit from gutted to rent-ready.

Landlords & Property Owners

Residential and commercial owners, from a first duplex to a multi-market portfolio.

Management Companies

The people holding the maintenance budget and the call list for a few hundred doors.

Realtors & Brokers

Agents who need a reliable trade on call before a listing inspection turns into a repair list.

Building Supply & Materials

Lumber, hardware, flooring, fixtures and finishes — with product on the table, not in a catalog.

Trades & Vendors

Electrical, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, paint, pest and the services that keep a building running.

Why come

Two hours, priced in work won.

01

The budget is in the room

Landlords and management companies come to find trades they can call. If you do the work, you're talking to the person who approves the invoice — not to their answering service.

02

Product you can put your hands on

Suppliers bring materials, tools and samples to the table. See the finish, check the gauge, ask what's actually in the warehouse this month.

03

One afternoon beats a season of cold calls

Everybody here already owns buildings, manages them, or fixes them. Nobody needs the pitch explained — you skip straight to scope and schedule.

The Afternoon

Run of show

  1. Doors & registration

Check in, collect your badge, tell us what trade you're in or what work you need.

  2. Welcome from the WV Landlord Association

Two minutes on how the floor works — then we get out of the way.

  3. Open floor

Supplier tables and trade introductions. Our hosts point owners at the trades they're missing.

  4. Supplier demonstrations

Short, practical walk-throughs of tools and materials — what's new, what it costs, what's in stock.

  5. Last calls & follow-ups

Trade cards, book the site visit, close out the formal program by six.

  6. Proximity begins, same hotel

The executive evening for real estate, realtors, lawyers, owners and CPAs runs 6:00–8:00 in the same building. Separate ticket.

Questions

Good to know

Do I have to be a WV Landlord Association member?
No. The Marketplace is hosted by the WVLA but open to any contractor, trade, supplier, owner or manager working in the region. Members and non-members pay the same.
I'm a contractor. Is this worth my afternoon?
The room is built so it is. Landlords, property managers and realtors come specifically to find trades they can call — so you're handing cards to the people who approve the work, not to other contractors. Bring plenty of them, and bring photos of recent jobs on your phone.
I own or manage buildings. What do I get out of it?
A vetted call list. You'll meet general contractors and individual trades — electrical, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, paint, flooring — plus the supply houses behind them, in one afternoon instead of six weeks of phone tag. Come with your problem list.
Can I bring product or set up a table?
Suppliers and building-supply houses are a core part of this event, and demonstrations run through the afternoon. Table space is limited and assigned in advance, so email the organizers before you plan on bringing a display.
How can I pay?
Three ways. Card — the card button takes you to our Eventbrite listing, where you pay by credit or debit and get instant confirmation; Eventbrite adds its own service fee there, so you'll see the final amount on their checkout before you commit. Zelle — scan the QR code in the ticket box with your banking app and put the reference number shown there in the memo, so we can match it to you. Check — text 304-996-2339 for the mailing address and make it payable to Stern Productions, LLC. Whichever you pick, your badge is at the door.
Can I bring my crew?
Yes — just pick the number of spots you need at checkout. If you're bringing five or more, email us first and we'll make sure there's room to stand together.
What should I wear?
Come as you work. Plenty of people arrive straight off a job site and that's entirely fine; others come business casual. Nobody's checking.
What's the refund policy?
Refunds are available up to 14 days before the event, per our Eventbrite listing. Tickets are transferable to someone else on your crew at any time.
Is there parking?
Yes — on-site parking at the Four Points by Sheraton, 600 Kanawha Boulevard East. If you're staying for Proximity at six, leave the truck where it is.
What's Proximity, and do I need a second ticket?
Proximity is the executive networking evening that runs 6:00–8:00 PM in the same hotel on the same night — real estate, realtors, lawyers, business owners and CPAs, with an after party behind the building. It's a separate ticket and a separate registration. Plenty of people do both.
I want to sponsor. Who do I talk to?
Email the organizers with a sentence on what you have in mind. Sponsorship is limited so the floor stays balanced between trades, owners and suppliers.
